Archives and Special Collections LibGuide
Additional resources for archival and preservation assistance can be found in the WNYLRC Preservation Committee's LibGuide.
Ask the Archivist
WNYLRC members can submit questions about managing their archives and special collections through the statewide Ask the Archivist service. Ask the Archivist staff provide advice, referrals, and guidance to colleagues on all aspects of archival work, including creating policies and strategic plans, collections processing, preservation, reference, acquisition, appraisal, and digital projects. All archival and special collections questions are welcome, and they can be submitted through the Ask the Archivist online form.
Digital Dark Archive
WNYLRC members are eligible to use the Digital Dark Archive (DDA) created and maintained by the Southeastern New York Library Resources Council, one of our sibling councils. The DDA provides secure long-term storage and preservation for members' locally created digital resources as a part of an organization's comprehensive digital preservation strategy. Additional information about the DDA, eligible file formats, and pricing can be found here. Interested in learning more? Send your questions to Michael Green!
