Committees

WNYLRC coordinates seven standing committees and several discussion groups. Committee participation offers valuable career benefits - networking, leadership development, and professional visibility - all while contributing to projects that support our region's libraries and archives. All WNYLRC members are eligible to serve on a standing committee.

Committee recruitment occurs every spring. Members may apply to serve on one or on multiple committees, and final committee appointments are assigned by the WNYLRC Board of Trustee's Executive Committee.

Standing Committees

Each committee adheres to the Standing Committee Guidelines.

Committee for Health Information Access (CHIA)
Continuing Education Committee (CE)
High School to College Committee (HS2C)
Library Education, Advancement, and Partnership Committee (LEAP)
Preservation Committee
Resource Sharing Committee (RSC)
Western New York Library Support Staff (WNYLSS)

Discussion Groups

Discussion groups, although not formally established WNYLRC committees, provide the opportunity for individuals from WNYLRC member institutions to discuss issues pertinent to a specific audience with similar interests. These discussion groups use the WNYLIB-L listserv to post meeting dates and/or topics of discussion.

Academic Library Directors Caucus

Members of this group are library directors at college and university libraries in WNYLRC’s service area. This group gathers once each year to share information about campus library activities and to discuss current issues and trends facing library services in higher education. If you want to join this group, contact Sheryl Knab.

Committee Chairs Meetings

The Committee Chairs meetings provide a discussion forum for Chairs of all WNYLRC standing committees. These meetings occur twice each year.
